Meta Tattoo Club (MTC) is a distinctive NFT project built on the Solana blockchain, aiming to fuse the worlds of tattoos, lifestyle, and luxury. The project not only represents a collection of 8,888 "inked-up Gods" but also extends into the real world with a tattoo shop called "Saints Touch" in Gothenburg, Sweden. MTC ambitiously plans to expand its tattoo business globally, offering NFT holders real-world utility and establishing a strong presence in the Web3 ecosystem.
Meta Tattoo Club launched in October 2022 with an initial mint price set at 3 SOL, approximately $85 per NFT. Despite a bearish market trend, the launch event was successful, and MTC has consistently climbed the Total Value Locked (TVL) charts across marketplaces.
The Meta Tattoo Club NFT collection features 8,888 unique "inked-up Gods," fittingly tying back to the project's lore set in the year 888 B.C. Though the collection has garnered significant attention, it's noteworthy that these NFTs are owned by only 1,669 unique wallet addresses, making up about 19% of the total ownership.
These NFTs are crafted with up to 12 different attributes, constituting more than 180 unique Meta Tattoo Club traits—such as background, eyewear, headwear, and, of course, tattoos. The rarity of each NFT is determined by these traits, influencing the gains NFT holders can expect from the project's staking program.
The team behind Meta Tattoo Club is led by founder Tommy, a seasoned entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in running various businesses, including tattoo shops and clothing brands. Co-founder Stefan oversees the artistic direction of the project, while the Head of Development, Garret, brings his background in mechanical engineering and crypto development to the table. Other noteworthy members include Trevor Johnson, Danyar, and the renowned tattoo artist Andreas Ishak. The Meta Tattoo Club artist hasn’t been officially announced by the project.
The MTC community has shown consistent growth since the project's launch, with over 5,700 Discord members, 11,500 Twitter followers, and 760 Instagram followers.
MTC has entered partnerships with various projects like Donkeykicks, Sol City Poker Club, and ShibZoids. These collaborations offer additional utilities and benefits to MTC NFT holders.
Owning a Meta Tattoo Club NFT isn't merely a digital asset; it's a ticket to a lifestyle. Holders can stake their NFTs to earn the project’s native token—INK—through a gamified program called “Drink the Ink.” The program has four levels, each with different earning potentials. On the more tangible side, one fortunate holder each month wins an all-expenses-paid trip to Sweden for a tattoo session with artist Andreas Ishak.
Holders of tokens from the collection can also derive value from Meta Tattoo Club through its plans to establish a real-life tattoo studio in Canggu, Bali which will bring revenue to collectors. Besides that, the project plans to establish a tattoo studio in the metaverse, aiming to become to social and global networking hub for all tattoo artists.
"The Blueprint," as the roadmap is called, is divided into seven core elements. These include the expansion of the staking program, various raffles, metaverse integrations, the creation of a luxury streetwear brand, and a YouTube documentary series.
The INK token is the MTC ecosystem’s native currency. It has a total supply of 44,777,888 tokens, 60% of which are reserved for distribution to staked MTC NFT holders, 30% are stored for the future development of the project in its Treasury, and 10% are reserved for marketing initiatives.
INK token holders will be able to use their tokens in real-life MTC tattoo shops, once such are established, and also at the MTC virtual shop in The Sandbox. The INK tokens can be used to level up NFTs from the collection, essentially allowing holders to earn more INK. Later, INK holders will also be able to purchase merchandise, exclusive to MTC holders, from the project’s shop.
Holding INK tokens, allows community members to participate in various giveaways and raffles, as well as open so-called Treasure Chests, which remain to be further described.
At the moment, the current MTC staking system is being reworked to facilitate a v2 which is planned to introduce a deflationary mechanism.
Meta Tattoo Club NFTs can be purchased from various marketplaces like OpenSea, LooksRare, and Magic Eden. The Meta Tattoo Club floor price currently hovers around 0.5 SOL, which roughly equates to $10, putting it among the cheaper NFT collections on the market. The most expensive MTC NFT recently sold is #2552, priced at 55 SOL.
From its real-world tattoo shops to its metaverse ambitions, Meta Tattoo Club offers a unique blend of utility and lifestyle to its community. Whether you're an NFT collector or a tattoo enthusiast, this project offers something for everyone.
